Last JHB/PTA shows for the year.

We just had our last couple of shows up-country with Taxi Violence, Fire Through the Window and some other be-fuck cool bands.

If this was anything to go by, the December trip with Taxi Violence is going to get out of hand.

Recording Drums

We recorded the drums in a different studio this time. We used a Brady drumkit. It was the first time I saw a Brady kit. It plays like a dream and it sounds amazing. Check it out on the net if you like.

Recording time

We just spent some time in studio to record a song for something we can't tell you about yet...
The song should be going for Mastering this week.

Hi all.

We've been a tad quiet here on the blog - promise it'll be different from now on.

So much has happened since we launched the album. Another tour up-country, 2 Oppikoppi's, Rocking the Gardens/Daisies, writing and recording some new music, getting booked for our first Kirstenbosch Summer Series show, and a massive tour schedule poking out its pretty face on the dusty December horizon.

One of the band-playing perks in life was that we got to take a week off in Umhlanga before our first show in Durban with Jack (who does our sound from time to time) and his missus.
It felt like a Christmas holiday at the beach – sans crazy family and presents - even though it was only the beginning of September. Fuck, I mean when last did you see palm trees like these?

For some reason, everywhere we go in SA, we seem to get followed by a table tennis table. Barring the fact that everything about the previous sentence seems so wrong, cause it would just be ridiculous thinking that a table tennis table would sneak around and follow us, we have internally become extremely competitive to find the Ashtray Electric Table Tennis Champion (aka The AETTC). At the moment it looks like Andre - or AGMP as he is known these days.
It has gotten so out of hand that we get out of bed, in our underwear, and challenged each other in the middle of the night at Jacques’ (from Wrestlerish) house.

Talking about new friends, we’ve made some pretty cool (and some seriously kak ones) down the line in the last while. Jacques (as mentioned above) and the rest of the Wrestlerish guys and us had a memorable trip down to Bloemfontein. After copious amounts of Jagermeister and an awesome show, the Nel Brothers went for ‘a little lie down’ in the tour van whilst the rest of us still raided the Mystic Boer bar.

When the rest of us got outside to leave, the van was nowhere to be seen. After a long debacle and convincing Reg over the phone that he should wake up, get out of the van (which they were sound asleep in all this time) and see that they were not in front of the venue anymore, we realised someone (not the Nel brothers cause they were paralysed so to speak) had moved the van two blocks down the road. Thank fuck nothing, except a bottle of Jager, had been stolen.

On a little more serious note, we have some off time now before the end of the year chaos starts. The new track is in the final stages of mix down and should be done soon. You’ll have to wait for release unfortunately… It should hit our setlist soon though.

Keep an eye on this here blogger thingey for the latest updates and silly photos from us.

Alternatively visit our
website, follow us on Twitter, check out the Myspace site, for the latest gig and tour updates or become a fan on Bookface or buy ‘Bonjour’ online at Rhythm Records Online.

Till next time.

Peace and love,
